Henri Pescarolo (born 25 September 1942), the French racing driver who will later win the 24 Hours of Le Mans four times, was signed in 1970 to drive full-time for Matra in their Formula One team, alongside fellow Frenchman Jean-Pierre Beltoise.

He put in a solid performance at the Monaco Grand Prix with a fine third place behind Rindt (Lotus) and Brabham (Brabham). Thanks to two more sixth places in Belgium and Germany, and a fine fifth in France, he scored a total of 8 championship points and finished the 1970 F1 season in 12th position.

Henri Pescarolo also participated in the world endurance championship for Matra and won, partnered with Beltoise, the 1000 km of Paris and the 1000 km of Buenos Aires in Argentina (picture below).
