Henri Pescarolo (born 25 September 1942) has started the 24 Hours 33 times (!) as a driver and 10 times as team principal for his own team, Pescarolo Sport. He was easily recognisable with his green helmet.
Pescarolo had a terrible accident in 1969 in a Matra 640, where he was badly burned and had broken vertebrae, but came back to win three times in a row in 1972-1973-1974 in a Matra MS670, first with Graham Hill, then twice with Gérard Larrousse.
In 1976, Pescarolo won the GTP Class (8th overall) in a Inaltera LM-Cosworth he shared with Jean-Pierre Beltoise, then took a fourth overall victory in 1984 with Klaus Ludwig in a New Man Joest Racing Porsche 956B (picture-below).
