Nigel is on a roll
The 1992 Mexican Formula One Grand Prix was held at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, on 22 March 1992. This 69-lap race was won from pole position by British driver Nigel Mansell, driving a Williams-Renault.

Nigel Mansell dominated the race straight from pole position and was on his way for a fantastic 1992 campaign. Indeed, he won the first five races of the season and later became the first driver in history to win nine races in a single season.
He sealed the Drivers’ Championship at the Hungarian Grand Prix in mid-August, with five races still to run, becoming the first Briton to win the championship since James Hunt, back in 1976. Picture below: teammates Patrese and Mansell celebrate a phenomenal 1-2 for Williams in the championship.
