Fiorano circuit near Maranello, early 1975. Niki Lauda, with the help of his mechanic Ermanno Cuoghi, climbs out of the new Ferrari 312T he has just tested for the first time. Behind him, Enzo Ferrari and Franco Gozzi can be seen deep in conversation (photo above).

Note the temporary ‘rosso corsa’ livery of this 312T, designed by Mauro Forghieri. On the left of the photo above, you can also see engineer Antonio Tomaini, and in the background, Clay Regazzoni, who is also preparing to test this single-seater.

The Ferrari 312T would not make its appearance until the third event of the season in South Africa, the 312B3-74 having started the season, and with Niki Lauda at the wheel, would dominate the 1975 season. Photo below: 312T and 312B3-74 side by side in the Kyalami pits.
