Wet start at Mosport in 1973 (picture-above). Poleman Ronnie Peterson is already out of sight in his Lotus 72 while Peter Revson (McLaren M23) is leading François Cevert (Tyrrell 006), veteran Denny Hulme far left in the second Yardley McLaren, Niki Lauda showing lots of promise in his Marlboro-BRM, then Jackie Stewart now a three-time World Champion in his Tyrrell 006, and Mike Hailwood in his Surtees.

This 80-lap 1973 Canadian Grand Prix was won by Peter Revson, driving a McLaren M23-Ford, after starting from second on the grid. This turned out to be Revson’s second and last victory and podium finish in Formula One. He will sadly perish in an accident while testing a Shadow at Kyalami in 1974…

Emerson Fittipaldi took second for Team Lotus, while Jackie Oliver surprised many by taking third for Shadow, his first podium in five years and his last of all. This was also the 99th and last race of triple world champion Jackie Stewart who finished in fifth, here at Mosport. The Scot would retire after the qualifying for the next race at Watkins Glen, after the death of team mate Cevert.
