Jolyon Palmer, born 20 January 1991, the son of former F1 driver and circuit owner Jonathan Palmer, is a British motorsport commentator. Prior to his media career, Palmer was a competent racing driver and the 2014 GP2 Series champion. He then drove in 2016 and 2017 for the Renault Sport team in Formula One.

Jolyon Palmer made his Formula One debut with Renault F1 at the start of the 2016, during which he scored his first World Championship points at the Malaysian Grand Prix. He stayed with Renault for 2017 through to the Japanese Grand Prix, after which he was replaced by Toro Rosso driver Carlos Sainz.

On the day after he learned that he would be losing his seat for 2018, he survived a race of attrition at the 2017 Singapore Grand Prix to gain a career best finish of sixth, securing his first eight championship points of the season. Disappointed not to be able to continue in F1, Jolyon decides to retire from racing.
