Felipe Nasr drove in Formula 1 for the Sauber team in 2015 and 2016. In his first race in Australia, Nasr finished in a superb fifth position, holding off Ricciardo in a Red Bull, the highest ever placing for a Brazilian driver on his Grand Prix debut.
Nasr finished his debut season with 27 points, compared to the 9 points scored by his more experienced team mate Ericsson.
For two season, Nasr brought the bulk of the results (points) needed for the financially struggling Sauber, but was replaced for the 2017 season by Wehrlein.
I took this picture at the pre-season test at Barcelona, early 2015. We are still friends to this day.
