Two Eagles on the grid!

Two Eagles T1G can be spotted on the grid of the 1966 US Grand Prix held at Watkins Glen. #15 raced by Dan Gurney, powered by the V12 Weslake, and #16 driven by Bob Bondurant with the Climax engine behind the Lotus’-BRM of Pedro Rodriguez and Mike Spence. Bruce McLaren can be seen on the left in his #17 McLaren, while Richie Ginther is behind them all in his white #12 Honda.

The race was won by Scottish driver Jim Clark, driving a Lotus 43-BRM for Team Lotus. Clark lapped the field to claim his 20th Formula One win by over a lap. None of the Eagles finished the race though, both were forced to retire early on, with mechanical issues. But what a splendid car this Len Terry designed Eagle, here Dan Gurney at the wheel, see picture-below.
