The incredible Le Mans rumour (2)
Gregory Noblet, the son of Pierre Noblet, who excelled at Le Mans, and who is a racing scholar, has a very plausible version of the “incredible Le Mans rumor” published yesterday:
“Allow me to be very circumspect about this version!…
I heard it from the mouth of “Coco” Chinetti himself, a few years ago now, he had now confided in me that the statute of limitations had expired and that it was Ed Hugus, also a shareholder of NART… who had done a double or triple night relay, not with Gregory’s helmet but with Rindt’s, Masten being exhausted at the time of the relay and no longer seeing anything following the pouring rain that had fallen.”
Noblet adds: “Moreover, Luigi senior would never have allowed such a scenario with a virtual stranger!…
He was very firm and precise in his race management!…
I remind you that Jochen was busy with other sporting activities, even stimulating ones… during that night!… hence the fact that he was nowhere to be found. And this, of course, normally before his meeting with the beautiful Nina!…
