A Grand Prix in Geneva!

The 1946 Nations Grand Prix was held on 21 July 1946 on the Circuit of Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. The race, on the 2.986 km circuit consisted in three heats of 32 and 44 laps.
Picture above: Tazio Nuvolari – The great Italian finished third in the second and fourth in the third heat – in his Maserati 4CL.
The first heat of 32 laps was won from pole position by French ace Jean-Pierre Wimille, while the second heat and the third heat were won by Italian Giuseppe Farina, both drivers in an Alfa Romeo 158.
Picture below: Nino Farina leads Jean-Pierre Wimille in the early stages of the third heat. The two Alfa Romeo drivers drive on the limit, and do not hold back. The Italian will prevail.
