Honda wanted to return to Formula One as a constructor in 1999 and test the RA099, two chassis were built, developed by Dallara (that’s why it was nicknamed “Dallhonda”, picture-above), in collaboration with engineer Harvey Postlethwaite.
Twenty years before his son Max, Jos Verstappen had been hired by the Japanese manufacturer (picture below), but the sudden death of Postlethwaite, who suffered a heart attack during a test session at Jérez, put a final halt to the project.
