Snow!

In the 60s, most F1 drivers, the stars of the moment, did not hesitate to race in selected F2 races, against the talented hopefuls. For them, these were good opportunities to race fast cars, to have fun… and to make a few quids.

The Formula 2 race called Eifelrennen, raced in April 1967 on the shorter version of the Nürburgring, was held in winter conditions. In these days rain, fog or even snow did not prevent anybody to race. Jochen Rindt, in a Roy Winkelmann Racing-entered Brabham BT23-Ford won the race, with John Surtees (Lola T100-BMW) in second (picture below), and Jacky Ickx third, in a Tyrrell Racing Organisation-entered Matra MS5-Ford.
