Shadow in formation

The three impressive Shadow DN4-Chevrolet of Jackie Oliver, George Follmer and Jean-Pierre Jarier (who will not participate in the event) in formation at the Can-Am race held at Watkins Glen in 1974 (picture-above). Oliver and Follmer were dominant and scored a perfect 1-2 for the Phoenix Racing Organisation.

The Shadow DN4 is a sports prototype race car, built to Group 7 racing specifications, for competing in the North American Can-Am series. It has an aluminium fiberglass monocoque and is powered by a 7,439 to 8112 cc naturally aspired Chevrolet engine. Jackie Oliver (picture below) successfully clinched the 1974 Can-Am Championship season in this car, winning 4 out of 5 races featuring on the calendar.
