Six months after Ford’s triumph at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, recently brought back into the spotlight by the beautiful film “Le Mans 66”, Ferrari took a brilliant revenge by achieving a historic triple at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona.

The photo finish (photo above) was more successful than in the Sarthe rain in June, this time under the Florida sun with three red racing cars side-by-side representing three variations of one of the most beautiful racing cars ever built!

Victory for Chris Amon/Lorenzo Bandini in the #23, a P3/P4 in Spyder version, ahead of the #24, a P4 coupé version of Mike Parkes/Ludovico Scarfiotti and the #26, a 412P entered by NART for Pedro Rodriguez/Jean Guichet.

Two Porsches followed: the 910 of Hans Hermann/Jo Siffert and the 907 LH of Dieter Spoery/Rico Steineman. The first Ford was only fifth, a John Wyer GT40 driven by Jacky Ickx/Dick Thompson, ahead of the Bruce McLaren/Lucien Bianchi MkII 7-litre.
