Silver Arrow ace
The 1934 German Grand Prix was held at the Nürburgring on 15th of July and was won by Hans Stuck in his Auto Union Type A.
Picture above: #6 Rudolf Caracciola (Mercedes-Benz W25), retired. #20 Goffredo Zehender (Maserati 8CM), finished 6th. #1 Hans Stuck (Auto Union Type A), won the race. #9 Luigi Fagioli (Mercedes W25), finished second.
Hans Stuck von Villiez (1900-1978) was a German racing driver and the father of F1 and endurance ace, Hans-Joachim Stuck. Despite many successes in Grand Prix for Auto Union in the early 1930s, during the era of the famous “Silver Arrow”, he is mostly known for his domination of hillclimbing, which earned him the nickname “Bergkönig” of “King of the Mountains”.
