Because the new short wheel-base Tyrrell 006 did not satisfy Jackie Stewart in the autumn of 1972, it was François Cevert who first raced it in the Canadian Grand Prix at Mosport. Nevertheless, the Scot took its wheel during practice (picture above), with number two on its side pods and the name of his team mate!

But its aboard the Tyrrell 005 that Stewart was going to win the race the following day and then again in the US two weeks later (picture below), two successes that were not sufficient to deprive Emerson Fittipaldi of his first world title in a season that saw Jackie miss certain Grand Prix in order to cure an stomach ulcer, most probably due to his (too) intense program between the F1 and the Can-Am Series in North America.
