The Porsche 908 was a race car from Porsche, introduced in 1968, to continue the 906/907/910 series of models designed under Ferdinand Piëch.

It was successful in all endurance races around the world till 1981, making this model one of the most successful and long standing race cars in endurance history.

In 1975 (picture) some 908s were fitted with turbocharged engines, similar to those used in the Porsche 934 GT car. Even with 2.1-litre and a turbo factor of only 1.4, the turbos by now out-powered normally aspired 3-litre engines.

At the 800 km of Dijon in 1975, two 908/3 turbo were entered for Jöst-Casoni (Joest Racing) and for Müller-van Lennep (Dannesberg-Martini Racing). The race was won by Merzario-Laffite in their Alfa Romeo T33/TT/12 in front of the 908 driven by Jöst-Casoni.
