Lifetime combat
Nico Rosberg, born 27 June 1985, is a German former racing driver and entrepreneur. He is the 2016 Formula One World Champion and the son of 1982 World Champion Keke Rosberg. Nico is underrated by some because he chose not to defend his 2016 title. That was his choice to make and in my view a brave one, having achieved all he wanted in motorsport and realising there is more to life than “driving in circles”.
He could have carried on for a couple more years, earn tons of money, but decided otherwise. Respect. He had a great career, much of it in combat with Lewis Hamilton, from karting (picture above) all the way to F1. Nico won one world championship (picture below in 2016), 23 F1 Grand Prix, 57 podiums, 30 pole positions and scored 1594.5 championship points in 206 starts.
In retirement, Rosberg’s love of engineering and innovation saw him become an eco-entrepreneur, by investing in positive change to the environment and society.
