24 Hours of Le Mans 1968. Pit stop for the victorious Ford GT40 driven by Lucien Bianchi and Pedro Rodriguez (picture-above). We recognise team manager David York who guides the car, but also John Wyer and the well-known Ferrari mechanic Ermanno Cuaghi, recommended by Jo Ramirez, and brought to JW by Pedro Rodriguez, who knew him well from his passage at Ferrari with Ricardo Rodriguez.
After a night-long battle in changing conditions, it was a comfortable 5-lap victory, on the first Porsche, for the Gulf-livered GT40 of Rodriguez and Bianchi. For Pedro Rodriguez, it was only his second finish after 11 attempts. For Belgian Lucien Bianchi it was his 13th Le Mans.
