In the right order

The 1985 6 Hours of Mugello saw the Porsche 962C take all steps on the podium, with the victory going to the works car of Jacky Ickx/Jochen Mass in front of the Team Kremer cars (Manfred Winkelhock/Marc Surer) and Brun Motorsport (Stefan Bellof/ Thierry Boutsen).
The hierarchy was thus respected, but in the past it was not always the case: in rare occasions, the works cars were fair and square beaten by excellent privates, like during the 1983 Monza 1000 km, when the 956 entered by the Joest Racing, took the win thanks to the excellent Thierry Boutsen and Bob Wollek, the “Marlboro” in front of the “Rothmans”!
