F1: Here is the 2020 grid
We still have 7 races to go on the 2019 calendar and most of the seats for 2020 are already filled, some question marks remain :
Ferrari : Vettel has a valid 2020 contract and will stay. Leclerc has a long term contract, and will most probably sign another one … till 2024.
Red Bull : Verstappen is there for one more year at least and Albon should keep his seat, because for the moment, he has done enough to please Dr. Marko.
Mercedes : Hamilton and Bottas have been confirmed for 2020.
Renault : Ricciardo has one more year in his contract, and Ocon has been signed for 2020-21.
McLaren : Zac Brown is very satisfied with his pairing, Sainz and Norris are staying and are part of McLaren long term plans.
Racing Point : Pérez has signed a new 3 year deal, and Stroll is the son of the owner.
Alfa Romeo : Raikkonen has a contract for 2020 and Giovinazzi will be given one more year to prove his worth. Alfa Romeo without an Italian is (for the Italians) unthinkable, and he’s shown progress.
Haas : Magnussen has one more year in his contract and Gunther Steiner (picture) is tempted to replace Grosjean by the no-nonsense, steady good finisher, Hulkenberg.
Gene Haas is convinced however that stability is the best option for the team, he might decide to retain both drivers.
Toro Rosso : Dr Marko does not have any up and coming junior ready for Formula 1, so he will keep Kvyat and Gasly.
Williams : Russell’s performance is outstanding, he will remain there for another year, and Kubica will be replaced by F2 frontrunner Latifi, who deserves a chance and who will bring the much needed substantial funding to the team.
Do not hesitate to comment.
