Gilles Villeneuve, the bravest of the brave. Never forgotten. Alan Henry, motorsport journalist remembers: “Behind the wheel of a racing car he was fearfully quick, never stopped trying, and could extricate himself from the most precarious situations with deft brilliance.”

His performances in Formula Atlantic in 1977 were so impressive, beating established F1 drivers, that James Hunt, amazed by such a talent, personally convinced John Hogan (Marlboro) to give him a chance in Formula One.
