In 1960, the 24 Hours of Le Mans were won for the first time by an all-Belgian pairing, in the Ferrari Testa Rossa. Olivier Gendebien, already a winner in 1958 with Phil Hill, and Paul Frère, second in 1959 with Maurice Trintignant on an Aston Martin, had a flawless race. It was the last time Paul Frère was wearing his famous yellow helmet in a race.
