David Coulthard can be considered as one of the best drivers who didn’t become Formula One World Champion. The Scot came close in 2001, when he was runner-up for McLaren behind Michael Schumacher (Ferrari).
Coulthard took 13 Grand Prix victories and 62 podium finishes, he was 4 times third in the standings: in 1995 for Williams and 1997, 1998, 2000 for McLaren.
