At the 2003 Australian F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne, David Coulthard won a Formula One race for the 13th and last time. The Scot competed in 15 seasons of Formula One between 1994 and 2008, taking thirteen victories and 62 podium finishes. He was runner-up in the 2001 championship (behind Michael Schumacher), driving for McLaren.

In the race, when Williams seemed to have the first victory of the year in the pocket, Juan Pablo Montoya spun after entering the first corner too fast, with eight laps from the end and without any pressure from his rivals.

The Colombian returned to the track, but lost first place to Coulthard, who won what turned out to be his last victory. Montoya was visibly frustrated on the podium (picture below).
