In 1969, the Automobile Club of Argentina sent three Torinos prepared by Oreste Berta (pictured above in a race in Argentina) to take part in the Marathon de la Route, an 84-hour endurance race held on the grand Nürburgring.
The operation met with immense popular success in Argentina via radio and the three cars reached the finish line under the command of team manager Juan Manuel Fangio (photo below), the five-time F1 World Champion who knew the Norschleiffe like the back of his hand.
