Juan Manuel Fangio won the 1950 French Formula One Grand Prix in dominant style at Reims, taking the checkered flag in his Alfa Romeo by over 25 seconds from team-mate Luigi Fagioli. The Argentinian would lead the title standings after this race.
This 1950 F1 season featured the inaugural FIA World Championship for drivers. The championship consisted of six Grand Prix races, all held in Europe, plus the Indianapolis 500.
Giuseppe (Nino) Farina won the championship from Juan Manuel Fangio and Luigi Fagioli (picture below at Silverstone), all three driving the all-dominating Alfa Romeo 158/159.
