When on the penultimate lap of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton hit Alex Albon at turn 10, trying to overtake him for second place, he relegated Albon to the back of the field, and robbed him of the first podium finish of his young career.

Albon reacted with calm and maturity : “Am a bit upset, yes for sure, but it’s racing.”

He added : “I was surprised because I thought Lewis could have waited to make his move and am sure he would have past me in Turn 1. He had the pace. Of course he didn’t mean to do it. Am not angry at Lewis, it’s one of those things that happen when you race. Of course, I wanted that podium so badly, and I felt I deserve it, but that’s it really. Am a bit upset now but it’s racing and I want to focus on Abu Dhabi.”

Lewis took all the blame and apologized and that is nice of him. But honestly, I feel am partly responsible, because I should not have given him the slightest opportunity there.”

“Anyhow, I like to keep the positives in my mind. It was a good race. It was alright.”

This kid is alright.
