Nicolas Todt is a French drivers’ manager. He is the son of former Ferrari Formula One team principal and current FIA president Jean Todt, and manager of racing drivers Felipe Massa, Charles Leclerc, Daniil Kvyat, Pastor Maldonado, James Calado, Caio Collet…

Nicolas Todt was instrumental in Felipe Massa‘s career, from Sauber to Ferrari and later to Williams. He continues to manage Felipe to this day in Formula E.

Felipe, Nicolas and myself are pretty good friends, so end of 2016, I travelled to Abu Dhabi to witness what was supposed to be Felipe’s last Grand Prix. I really did not want to miss that moment. On Saturday, after qualifications, I joined Nicolas and the whole team at the Williams facility for a little party to honor Felipe.

At least we thought it would be Felipe’s last Grand Prix, but when Rosberg announced his abrupt retirement, and Bottas moved from Williams to Mercedes to replace him, Felipe was ‘convinced’ by Lawrence Stroll and Claire Williams to stay one more year.
