Reine Wisell (born 30 September 1941) is a Swedish former racing driver. He participated in 23 Formula One Grand Prix, achieved one podium, and scored a total of 13 championship points.

The Swede first got noticed when he won the Swedish Formula 3 championship in 1967. Three years later (end of 1970) he made the big step and signed for Colin Chapman’s Team Lotus who were the best team that season.

It was a tragic year for Lotus with the loss of lead driver Jochen Rindt at Monza that also lead to the retirement of team mate John Miles.

Reine Wisell first race for the team at the 1970 US Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, was also the best of his career, where he finished third. This result was going to be Wisells best, as the following years were not so good for him, and he decided to retire from F1 soon after his home Grand Prix in 1974.

He will continue to race a Camaro for many years in Scandinavia but also in Belgium (at Nivelles, the Spa 24 Hours…). Reine Wisell is seen here above in reflective mood and here-under racing his Lotus 72, in 1971.
