Nurburgring 1973.
Niki Lauda reaches the paddock on a Kawasaki. Behind him on the bike, none other than … Bernie Ecclestone !
During this 73 season, Lauda really started to show the extend of his immense talent, like in Monaco where he moved up to third and like here at the Nurburgring.
The Austrian did very well to qualify his BRM in 5th position, but was involved in an accident on lap 1 and had to retire.
The race was won by Jackie Stewart in front of Tyrrell team mate Cevert, and Jacky Ickx in a one-off outing for McLaren.
