Carlos Pace was an excellent racing driver from Brazil. He participated in 73 Formula 1 races, winning the 1975 Brazilian Grand Prix in a works Brabham BT44. He also achieved six podiums, and scored a total of 58 championship points.
As fast as his highly rated team mate at Brabham, Argentinian Carlos Reutemann, Pace was ready to challenge for victories on a regular bases, when on March 18, 1977 he sadly was killed in a private light aircraft accident near Sao Paolo, Brazil.
