Lewis Hamilton was once again superior in Hungary, but this time Max Verstappen managed to split the two Mercedes cars (all credit to RBR mechanics who managed to repair Max’s suspension minutes before the start). The Mercedes W11 looks simply unbeatable this season.

For me, Driver of the Day is Kevin Magnussen (main picture). A very strong performance for the Dane: made the right tire choice early on, and finished 9th in the so uncompetitive Haas-Ferrari. His team-mate Grosjean spent half of the race complaining about the lack of grip and finished 15th, but Kevin kept his head down and brought two very important points to the team.

Very solid week-end for Lance Stroll in the Racing Point. The young Canadian, who not long ago could not qualify (14 times in a row) in Q2, showed he’s improving, in a very good car indeed.

Daniel Ricciardo, 8th, squeezed the max of his Renault, outpacing his highly rated team-mate Ocon, who has a difficult start of the season. For the moment, he’s further in performance to the Australian than Hulkenberg was last year. Both cars finished a lap down on the winner, so far from the targeted podium finishes.

Where is Ferrari? Far, very far…
