Win number 17
In June 2015, Porsche claimed their 17th overall victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A fantastic achievement for a constructor dedicated to endurance racing since the 60’s.
The race was won by the No.19 Porsche 919 Hybrid of Nick Tandy and Le Mans rookies Earl Bamber and Nico Hülkenberg, followed by the the red and white sister car No.17 (picture above) of Mark Webber, Brandon Hartley and Timo Bernhard.
Unhindered in the final hours of the race, Hülkenberg took the checkered flag for the No.19 Porsche (picture below), a lap ahead of Hartley’s No.17 Porsche. Audi, in only their third defeat at Le Mans since… 2000, where a further lap behind in third place with the No. 7 car.
Today, at the Human Side of Racing, we are so happy to celebrate 17000 followers (a great opportunity to write a post about a car featuring the number 17). Thanks for sharing and commenting the posts, do not hesitate to register to the site. Forza!
