It’s been 25 years since Jean Alesi, on his 31st birthday, won his first and only Formula 1 Grand Prix at Montréal in 1995.
The Frenchman from Avignon started 201 Grand Prix, winning one race only, fewer than his talent deserved, but that one win occurred on his birthday, in a Ferrari (Alesi has Sicilian roots), carrying #27, in Montréal, the home race of the Ferrari driver who made the #27 famous, Gilles Villeneuve. A fantastic and popular victory, full of emotion.
