The 1990 season was placed under the sign of revenge for Alain Prost, crowned in 1989 with McLaren in the circumstances we know. having moved to Ferrari, the “Professor” made good use of the superb 641 designed by John Barnard and dominated his team mate Nigel Mansell.
After a first victory in Brazil, the French driver took a brilliant win in the altitude of Mexico with a legendary recovery drive: qualified in 13th position only, he concentrated on his race settings, caught all his opponents to win in front of Mansell and the McLaren of Gerhard Berger (picture below), Senna’s being delayed by a puncture.
