Hans-Joachim Stuck, a touring car and endurance legend from Germany, absolutely flat-out in a BMW CSL he shared with Jacky Ickx, and here-above taking-off at Planzgarten in the 1974 Nürburgring 1000km. The car was fast but a handful to tame with heavy steering but Strietzel (as he’s nicknamed) enjoyed every minute of it.
Hans-Joachim, the son of famed pre-World War II racing driver Hans Stuck, also competed in Formula One (74 starts) for the March, Brabham, Shadow and ATS teams. He scored two consecutive F1 podiums in a Brabham-Alfa in Germany and Austria in 1977 and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice for Porsche in 1986 and 1987 (picture-below).
