Surprise! It is indeed Ronnie Peterson and his co-driver Sven-Olof Svedberg seen above at the wheel of a Porsche 911L at the 1970 Swedish Rally. And why not, after all: the legendary Swedish driver, whose spectacular single-seater driving, characterized by seemingly endless and extremely well-controlled slides, was certainly in his element on the snowy roads of his homeland. Unfortunately, his adventure came to an end when the gearbox of his Porsche 911 gave up the ghost.

In 1970, Ronnie Peterson was competing in Formula 2 – 6 races, including a podium finish and a pole position, photo below – participating in 9 Formula 1 Grands Prix in private March cars without scoring any points, and also competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a factory Ferrari, but was forced to retire. A very busy schedule for someone already considered a great hope for motorsport.
