Ronnie Peterson, followed here by Emerson Fittipaldi’s Mclaren M23, wrestling his Lotus 76 at the Spanish GP held in Jarama 1974. Beautiful car, full of innovations: had initially a double rear wing and an electric clutch. It was ahead of its time technically, but proved uncompetitive, the team reverted to the old 72. Fittipaldi will clinch his second drivers’ world title (the first crown in 1972 for… Lotus) at the end of the year.
