Satisfaction for Uncle Ken
The 1974 British Grand Prix was held at Brands Hatch and was won by South-African Jody Scheckter, driving a Tyrrell 007-Ford with Emerson Fittipaldi second in a McLaren and Jacky Ickx third in a Lotus.
This was the second Grand Prix victory of the season for Scheckter, thereby putting himself into contention for that year’s F1 World Championship, to the delight of his boss, Ken Tyrrell (main picture), winner on home soil.

It was a hard fought 1974 championship with 4 title contenders all season: the two Ferrari drivers Regazzoni (2nd) and Lauda (4th), Scheckter (3rd in his Tyrrell) and eventual winner Emerson Fittipaldi (McLaren) who claimed his second title after the one obtained in 1972 with Lotus.
