In 1981, Tom Walkinshaw and Pierre Dieudonné (picture-above) wrote an important page in the history of motorsport. At the end of the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, their Mazda RX-7 entered by TWR was two laps ahead of the first BMW.
It was the first victory in the Belgian classic for a Japanese manufacturer. The first and only (so far) success of a rotary engine technology (aka Wankel engine), and the last triumph of a crew of only two drivers.
