Riding a Chevron
Jean-Pierre Jabouille takes a ride back to the pits on top of the Fred Opert Racing Chevron B35 Hart of José Dolhem at the end of the Jochen Rindt Memorial European F2 Trophy held at Thruxton, on 19th April 1976.
The race was won by Italian Mauricio Flammini in a March-BMW, but at the end of the year, it was Jean-Pierre Jabouille (ELF) who took the European title, beating René Arnoux (Martini) by one point.
José Dolhem (1944-1988) was a racing driver from Paris in France, and the half-brother (and also 1st cousin) of Formula One driver Didier Pironi (they had the same father and their mothers were sisters). He participated in three F1 Grand Prix (1 start) without scoring any point. Sadly, Dolhem died in a plane crash near Saint-Etienne in 1988.
