Bobby Rahal (born January 10, 1953) is a former racing driver and current one of the owners of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. As a driver, the American won three championships and 24 races in the CART open-wheel series, including the 1986 Indianapolis 500. His team also won the Indy 500 in 2004 and 2020 with Buddy Rice and Takuma Sato, respectively.

Rahal raced for the Wolf Formula One team in the 1978 United States Grand Prix (12th) and Canadian Grand Prix (ret), but the deal with Walter Wolf did not continue into the 1979 season, as Wolf signed up James Hunt for the one and only car available.

Bobby thus began 1979 racing a Chevron in Formula 2, the car wasn’t competitive enough compared to the March cars, so he returned to the US mid-season and raced in the Can-Am series.
