Pesca and the MS120
The Matra-Simca MS120 driven by Henri Pescarolo (picture above) during practice for the 1970 British Grand Prix held at Brands Hatch. The French ace qualified 13th but retired following an accident on lap 42.
The Matra MS120 was the sixth and final Formula One car produced by Matra, following the MS9, MS10, MS11, MS80 and MS84. designed by Gérard Ducarouge and Bernard Boyer, it had an aluminium monocoque and was powered by a 3,000cc V12 Matra engine.
Driven by Jean-Pierre Beltoise, Henri Pescarolo and Chris Amon it scored 5 podiums, 2 pole positions and 3 fastest laps from 1970 to 1972, but no victory, although it came close (with Amon) a few times… At the 1970 Monaco Grand Prix, Henri Pescarolo finished third in the MS 120 (picture below), behind winner Rindt (Lotus) and Brabham (Brabham).
