During a demonstration for the sponsor Vodafone in 2011, Jenson Button drove the McLaren MP4/23 on the road circuit of Mount Panorama in Australia, scene of the famous 12 Hours of Bathurst.
The 2009 World Champion established that day an unofficial track record of 1’48″8, about 15 seconds faster than the V8 Supercars of the time, and about 10 seconds faster than an Audi R8GT3 at Bathurst the year before.
It gave us spectacular images, including some helicopter views (picture here-under) following the single-seater in some acrobatic positions!
