Bad luck for David Coulthard who, incredibly, crashed his Williams-Renault while entering the pitlane at the Adelaide circuit in 1995 (picture above). The race was won by team mate Damon Hill in front of Olivier Panis (Ligier-Mugen Honda) and the surprising Gianni Morbidelli (Footwork-Hart).
The young Scottish driver was even more sorry at his return into his garage, see picture below taken by Philippe Graton, because it was his last start for Williams: the 1995 championship ended in Australia, while a few month later, the 1996 season started “down under”, but this time in Melbourne, where DC drove a McLaren.
