Three victories in eight starts for Klaus Ludwig at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. When Ludwig was on the grid, you could bet he was a genuine contender for the win. He is a winner in 1979, 1984 and 1985, always with Porsche.

Picture above: victory in 1985 in a New Man Joest Racing Porsche 962 with Paolo Barilla and ‘John Winter’.

The best of his 3 victories must be the one when, on board of his Porsche 935K3, he nearly single handedly won the 1979 edition for the Kremer Brothers, overcoming rain (picture below), faltering prototypes and a broken fuel injection … but still won by six laps!
