Giancarlo Fisichella, born 14 January 1973, has driven in Formula One from 1996 to 2009 for Minardi, Jordan, Benetton, Sauber, Renault, Force India and Ferrari.

The Italian entered 231 Formula One races, scored three wins, 19 podiums, 4 pole positions and 275 career points. Since 2010, ‘Fisico’ has driven a Ferrari for AF Corse in endurance, becoming twice a Le Mans 24 class winner.

In 2006, Giancarlo Fisichella drove a superb race from pole to win the Malaysian Grand Prix (pictures above and below). His Renault team-mate Fernando Alonso finished second. It was Giancarlo’s 3rd and final GP win and astonishingly, 16 long years later, no Italian driver has won an F1 GP since.
