French racing driver Jean Behra, ready to climb the Raidillon in his Gordini at the 1952 Belgian Formula One Grand Prix at Spa. He qualified in fifth, but was forced to retire on lap 13, accident. The race was won by Italian Alberto Ascari in a Ferrari.

Jean Behra (16 February 1921 – 1 August 1959) was a French racing driver known for his bravery, who competed in Formula One from 1952 to 1959. Behra contested 54 Formula One Grands Prix across eight seasons for GordiniMaseratiBRMFerrari, and Behra-Porsche. He achieved nine podiums and one fastest lap, finishing fourth in the 1956 World Drivers’ Championships with Maserati.
