There was still a lot of guess work concerning the multiple fixing points of the wings during the 1968 season: in the picture above at Mont Tremblant (Canada), we recognise Jack Brabham talking to Goodyears’ Leo Mehl and his chief mechanic Ron Dennis, busy on the left rear tire.
A year later, at Montjuich, these particular foldable wings were going to suffer (picture below, the other Brabham BT26 of Jacky Ickx), and the accidents of the two Lotus’s lead to the ban of these (much too highly placed) aerodynamic elements…
